Bronte Parsonage MuseumWelcome to the website of the Brontė Parsonage Museum and Brontė Society. The site has information about the lives and novels of the Brontė Family and the Brontė Parsonage Museum. Enjoy exploring the website and we hope you will visit us soon.

The museum is closed from 4 to 31 January and will re-open on 1 February following a Heritage Lottery funded redevelopment.

What's On

Genius - The Brontė Story:   Major refurbishment of the main exhibition space opens with new permanent exhibition focussing on the Brontes' lives. There is also a new special exhibition focussing on Charlotte Bronte, free on admission to the Museum.

Jo Brown: The Sunbeam and the Storm: Exhibition of new abstract paintings by artist Jo Brown, inspired by descriptions of weather in Emily Bronte's poems - Bronte Parsonage Museum - Free with admission to the museum.

Lisa Appignanesi, writer, broadcaster and chair of the Freud Museum will be speaking about her book Mad, Bad and Sad: A History of Women and the Mind Doctors from 1800. The book looks at the ways female madness has been studied over the past two centuries and includes writers such as Charlotte Bronte, Virginia Woolf and Sylvia Plath - 2pm - West Lane Baptist Centre, Haworth - Admission £3, tickets on the door.
