POETRY AT THE PARSONAGE: Poetry workshop

Knowing when a poem is 'ready' can be difficult. In this workshop, you will learn basic principles of poetry editing, including practical tips around some fundamental aspects of poetry that can apply to all your work including line breaks, syntax and form. Bring along a poem you're working on for a practical exercise to illustrate the principles learned.

Zaffar Kunial was born in Birmingham and lives in Hebden Bridge. His poetry pamphlet was published by Faber & Faber as part of the Faber New Poets series in 2014, and in the same year he was the Wordsworth Trust poet in residence and won the Geoffrey Dearmer Prize. Zaffar's poem 'Us' is the final poem in the recently published The Map and the Clock: A Laureate's Choice of the Poetry of Britain and Ireland, edited by Carol Ann Duffy and Gillian Clarke.

Tickets £20 (£10 for 16-25 year olds). Please book in advance via the link on this page, or call 01535 640192 for further information.
