Duttons for Buttons, 32 Coppergate, York YO1 9NR
Sew a needle roll just like Charlotte Brontë’s and study Regency embroidery patterns and designs. Master a range of hand-stitches and personalise your own embroidered needle roll with lace, ribbon and beads in the tradition of 19th century ladies. Travel through time and learn new needlecraft skills along the way with our tutor, textile artist Helen Barnes. Duttons for Buttons' Heritage Workshops combine practical sewing and needlecraft skills with history in an atmospheric medieval beamed room in a building that dates back to 1422. Ticket price of £50 includes materials and a 10% discount voucher for purchases at Duttons for Buttons in York or Harrogate. Refreshments are provided but lunch is not included. As our shop is located in the heart of York, there are lots of lovely cafes locally for lunch (and green spaces for picnics, weather permitting). Disability access: our workshops are held on the 2nd floor of our medieval building and are only accessible via two flights of stairs. We do apologise if this prevents anyone attending our workshops.
