COVID-19: important information for visitors

COVID-19: Important information for our visitors.
We are pleased to welcome visitors back to the Brontë Parsonage Museum. For the protection of our staff, volunteers and visitors, we have have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and put carefully-planned social distancing and safety measures in place. We are pleased to confirm that we have been awarded ‘Good to Go’ status by Visit England, but please read the information below so that you know what to expect when you visit us.
If you, or any member of your household, has experienced any COVID-19 symptoms in the 14 days preceding your visit, we politely ask that you do not come to the Museum.

Admission is currently by pre-booked ticket only. The Brontë Parsonage Museum is a historic building and our collections are displayed in a number of small household rooms.  To facilitate social distancing, we will be selling tickets on a timed-entry basis and limiting the number of people admitted during each time slot.  Despite this planning, visitors may still be asked to wait for a short period of time before entering the Museum or shop and moving between different areas of the Museum.

NHS Test and Trace
Our online booking system will support the NHS Test and Trace service by collecting the name and contact details of the lead person in the party.  However, in accordance with updated guidelines, it is a government requirement that all visitors to our Museum and shop over the age of 16 must provide details for Test and Trace purposes.

Please check in using the QR code and NHS COVID-19 app OR provide details (full, name, telephone number or email address) of every member of the party on the paper form provided by our Visitor Experience Team.

This information will only be used to help stop the spread of the virus and will be handled in accordance with GDPR and our own privacy policy.  This means that details which are provided manually will be stored securely and destroyed after 21 days.

Face coverings and hand sanitiser
For the safety of our staff and visitors, we ask that face coverings are worn at all times, except by those who are exempt from having to do so. Visitors are welcome to bring their own mask, but there will be disposable ones available for a small charge. Museum staff and volunteers will be wearing face coverings when they are not working behind a screen.

There will be hand sanitiser at the entrance to the Museum and shop and visitors will be asked to use it before entering the building and during their visit.

Navigation and social distancing
Please respect the one-way system that we have put in place and maintain a distance of 2m from our staff and any visitors who are not part of your household.  There will be markers on the floor to help with this.  Screens have been installed at the welcome desk and in the shop.

Surfaces will be cleaned at regular intervals during the day, but we ask that you refrain from touching anything you do not need to.  In addtion,
we respectfully ask that customers in our shop refrain from touching items that they do not intend to buy. Contactless payments are preferred, but we will accept cash where this is not possible.

Personal belongings and luggage
We ask that visitors keep their personal belongings to a minimum as we are not able to store any bags or luggage.

Please note that the Brontë Parsonage Museum does not have any public toilets.  The Haworth Parish Council toilets in the Museum car park are currently closed but many of the food and drink businesses on Main Street have facilities which can be used by their customers. There are also toilets in Haworth Central Park.

We would like to thank all our visitors for their support, understanding and cooperation and look forward to giving you a warm, but safe welcome back to the Museum.  To continue with your booking, please click here
