The authors of two of the year’s most talked-about literary thrillers, which count Jeanette Winterson, Rosamund Lupton and Val McDermid among their fans, visit Haworth to speak about their new releases: Nuala Ellwood’s The House on the Lake and Jessica Moor’s Keeper. These texts explore landscape, feminism and abusive relationships through fiction in a tradition that reaches back to texts like The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.

Nuala Ellwood is the author of two bestselling novels: My Sister’s Bones for which she was selected as one of the Observer’s ‘New Faces of Fiction 2017’ and Day of the Accident. Nuala teaches Creative Writing at York St John University, and lives in the city with her young son.

Jessica Moor studied English at Cambridge before completing a Creative Writing MA at Manchester University. Prior to this she spent a year working in the violence against women and girls sector and this experience inspired her first novel, Keeper.
