Brontë Festival of Women’s Writing 2022

‘Wuthering Heights’: Alexandra Braithwaite, Sophie Galpin and Beckie Wilkie live in concert. Part of the Bronte Festival of Women's Writing.

What better way to round off Saturday at the festival than with a Brontë concert? Musicians Alexandra Braithwaite, Sophie Galpin and Beckie Wilkie will perform their soundtrack to the 2020 Royal Exchange theatre production of ‘Wuthering Heights’, followed by a Q&A session about how they adapted Emily Brontë’s world-famous novel to music.

Alex Braithwaite, Sophie Galpin and Becky Wilkie came together at the beginning of 2020 to create the sound world for a new imagining of ‘Wuthering Heights’ at the Royal Exchange Theatre, combining their talents as musicians, composers, songwriters and sound designers. The result? Not necessarily what a traditional theatre audience or fans of classical literature might expect!
