POETRY AT THE PARSONAGE: Poetry workshop

Join Jacob for a workshop that will explore the close-in and the seldom-examined, as well as the micro-decision that we make when we write a poem.

Jacob Polley was born and grew up in Cumbria. He's published four books of poems, winning the 2016 T S Eliot Prize for poetry for his fourth, Jackself. This prize-winning collection was described by Ruth Padel, chair of judges, as 'a firework of a book; inventive, exciting and outstanding in its imaginative range and depth of feeling'. He has also been awarded the 2013 Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize for The Havocs, and the Somerset Maugham Award for his first novel, Talk of the Town (2009). Jacob teaches at Newcastle University and lives with his family on the North East coast.

Tickets £20 (£10 for 16-25 year olds). Please book in advance via the link on this page, or call 01535 640192 for further information.
