The Brontës and Faith

The Brontë family first came to Haworth in 1820 upon Patrick’s appointment as Perpetual Curate, and the church formed a huge part of their everyday lives. Haworth’s present incumbent, the Reverend Peter Mullins, will be joining our curatorial team on Good Friday to shed light on the practicalities of Patrick’s ministry, and wider matters of faith in the mid-nineteenth century. There will be the opportunity to view collection items relating to Haworth Old Church, alongside representations of faith and spirituality in Brontë manuscripts and illustrations.

Tickets £20/£17.50 concessions* and include a glass of wine. Places are limited, so early booking is advised. Please book in advance at www.bronte.org.uk/whats-on or by calling 01535 640192.

*In addition to Brontë Society members, concessions apply to the following groups:
Children, students and people over 65

People in receipt of a means-tested benefit
Please be prepared to provide proof of status.
