A Creative Family Workshop

Join storyteller Sophia Hatfield and become a Brontë Botanist for the day.

This family-friendly workshop will invite a closer look at everyday weeds and wildflowers, with a fun story walk around the museum and grounds. Enjoy a fabulous flower-inspired story with live music, hunt for weeds around the grounds of the Brontë Parsonage Museum and create your very own wildflower characters and poems together as a family.

This activity is open to all. You do not need to book for the Museum in order to attend this workshop.

Date and Time: Thursday 17th August, 11am or 2pm

Information for guardians
Both workshops will have a relaxed approach and all families are welcome. The afternoon session will have some additional adjustments to make them even more welcoming for SEND families, including a gentle start, an introduction to the facilitator and the loan of a calm backpack.

Where we will be
This workshop will take place in the Museum’s event space, with a short exhibit-hunt activity in the Museum and gardens. The path leading to the event space is cobbled and may be challenging if you are using a wheelchair or pushchair. For further information about Museum access please visit the access page on our website or contact the Visitor Experience Team on 01535 640192.

Who the session is suitable for
All ages are welcome to join in the workshop. The session is recommended for groups with children aged 5 and up but you are welcome to attend with younger children if you feel the workshop will be manageable for your child and family group.

If your child is neurodivergent or has additional learning or access needs, we welcome you to a gentle meet and greet with workshop facilitator Sophia Hatfield 15 minutes before the start of the workshop. This is an opportunity to say hello, find out more about the session and discuss any additonal needs or adjustments we might be able to make on the day.
