Get 'Curious about Curation' this October Half Term!

There is plenty to explore at the Museum this October Half Term! Find out what it takes to look after a Museum collection, discover lost artefacts, enjoy autumn-themed storytelling and make your own mini Museum.

Family tickets can be booked here. Tickets include all activities below, plus a family activity book and loan of a Wild Explorer backpack.

Half Term activites run from Saturday 21st October to Sunday 5th November. Please note, the Museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.


EMILY'S SCAVENGER HUNT

Emily has been busy collecting things in the garden. There are so many wonderful things to explore outside in autumn. But her naughty dog Keeper has scattered everything all over the place! Can you help Emily put all her precious items safely back in her bag?

HIDDEN ARTEFACT TRAIL: FOLLOW THE TRAIL TO FIND THE CLUES!

Magnifying glasses at the ready! Look closely around the Museum and see if you can help us find the hidden artefacts. Follow the trail to find the clues and track down the missing objects.

MAKE YOUR OWN MINI MUSEUM: CRAFT ACTIVITY
Wednesday 25th October
11am - 3pm
Transform an ordinary matchbox into your personal miniature Museum! Turn a humble matchbox into a world of storytelling where you can create and curate your own collection of tiny wonders. From mini dioramas of the Brontë Parsonage Museum to whimsical fairytales and preserving natural treasures, the possibilities are endless...

CURIOUS ABOUT CURATION: FAMILY TALK
Thursday 26th and Friday 27th October
2pm - 2.30pm       
What’s the best way to handle precious manuscripts? How do we check for woodworm? Ask our curators all your burning questions about what it takes to look after our precious collection, and have a go at cleaning a book with one of our curator's special brushes! Plus, learn all about the secrets of our collection and the unexpected journeys some of the items have taken to find their way back to the Museum...

AUTUMN SONGS AND STORIES
Thursday 26th October
11am & 1pm  
Popular storyteller Sophia Hatfield returns for a lively day of storytelling, with an autumn songs and stories. In this 90-minute session, Sophia will take us on a magical journey inot the autumnal undergrowth, with opportunities for you to get involved too! Most suitable for ages 4+ but younger children are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the session. 
This activity will take place in the Brontë Event Space.
Free for everyone - no museum ticket required
