Two online storytelling workshops

Take part in two storytelling workshops with Obscura Theatre, a North West-based theatre and audio company exploring an enchanting tapestry of folklore and the fantastical, deeply rooted in local landscapes and communities.

After the incredible 2023 ‘Soundlandscape’ commission with the Brontë Parsonage Museum and Ilkley Literature festival, we’re joined by Obscura to bring the Yorkshire landscape to our international online audience. Finalists for the Untapped Award and the Pleasance Charlie Hartill Special Reserve in 2022, Obscura Theatre invites writers to embark on a storytelling journey.

Learn skills in adaptation, plot construction, dialogue, storytelling styles, and more. By the end of the two sessions, you'll have written a poem, a short story, or a short script based on a local piece of folklore and a contemporary local news story, with the opportunity to perform it to the group.

Join writer, composer, and sound designer Patch Middleton along with theatre and audio director and producer Emily Oulton, in a workshop where creativity converges with the uncanny.
Dates: Monday 18 and Monday 25 March, 7:00pm - 8:00pm (GMT)
Tickets: Pay what you feel!

Join either one session or both – the content will be different in each, so you’ll get lots out of just one or both workshops.

This online event will take place via Zoom. This is a live event and will not be recorded.
