Rachel Joyce is an author and playwright. Her book, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Book Prize and has been translated into 34 languages. Rachel Joyce was awarded the Specsavers National Book Awards 'New Writer of the Year' in December 2012 and shortlisted for 'Writer of the Year' in 2014. Rachel lives with her family in Gloucester.
 
Rachel is an award-winning writer of classic adaptions for BBC Radio 4, and has adapted all of the Bronte novels into radio dramas.  


This year's Literary Lunch will take place at The Marriott Liverpool. Liverpool is associated with Heathcliff and is celebrating ten years since it was made European City of Culture and has many events linked to this. The Marriott Liverpool is in a central location, near to the docks which is home to the Tate Liverpool and the International Slavery Museum.
