Book launch with Sharon Wright

Join author and journalist Sharon Wright as she launches her new biography of Maria Brontë (née Branwell). Often reduced to a marginal role in the lives of her famous daughters, the story of Maria is told for the first time, tracing her journey from Cornwall to West Yorkshire, and detailing the character of this gifted and enigmatic figure from her childhood, to her unlikely romance with Patrick Brontë, through to her untimely death in 1821. Sharon will be on-hand at this informal event to discuss her research and to sign copies of her book.

Sharon Wright is an author, journalist and playwright. She was born in Bradford and now lives in South West London with her family. She has worked as a writer, editor and columnist for leading national magazines, newspapers and websites including The Guardian, Daily Express, BBC, Disney, Glamour, Red and Take a Break. Her first boo, Balloonomania Belles, was serialised in The Mail on Sunday and received widespread coverage, including on BBC Woman's Hour and in the New York Post.

Free admission.
