Sally Wainwright’s drama To Walk Invisible was produced to celebrate the bicentenary of Charlotte Brontë's birth in 2016. Earlier that year, the To Walk Invisible production crew set up on Haworth Main Street, transforming it back to the 1840s and working tirelessly to recreate Church Street and Haworth Parsonage on nearby Penistone Hill.
Over the past ten years, To Walk Invisible has become a film cherished by many Brontë fans. It offers an authentic, well-researched interpretation of the sisters and their lives, underpinned by dialogue drawn from their letters and diary pages. This special exhibition highlights the set design and costume design, exploring how the Brontës were brought to life on screen. There is also a selection of costumes by Tom Pye on display in the Museum.
