‘Reading is my favourite occupation’ - Anne Brontë

The National Year of Reading 2026 is a UK-wide campaign designed to help more people rediscover the joy of reading.

As a literary Museum, we wanted to encourage our audiences to go all in and make reading a part of their everyday lives! Reading doesn’t just mean picking up a book. If you’re visiting the Museum, read our interpretation panels or dive deeper on Bloomberg Connects. Sit down in Parson’s Field and listen to an audiobook while enjoying the landscape.

Brontë Book Breaks

Why not pick up a book on your lunch break? Or plug in an audiobook and switch off for 20 mins. Let us know what you’re reading by tagging us on Instagram @bronteparsonagemuseum and use the hashtag #BrontëBookBreaks (It doesn’t have to be a Brontë novel, but bonus points if it is!)

Brontë Book Bingo

Download our book bingo sheets below for inspiration on what to read next! There’s a version for younger readers and one for adults to help you tick off some books on your TBR pile.
