Oakwell Hall and Country Park is one of the hosts of the National Gallery's nationwide exhibition, ‘The National Gallery: Art On Your Doorstep.’ Fourteen life-size reproductions of National Gallery paintings are to be displayed throughout the Country Park. 

Join us at Oakwell Hall for a fascinating curator-led tour exploring when the Brontë sisters visited the National Gallery—twice!—and what the Gallery looked like during their time. Learn about their visits, the artworks they encountered, and how these experiences may have influenced their writing. Each selected painting on the tour is paired with a hand‑picked literary quote from one of the novels, offering a rich and atmospheric connection between the art and the world of the Brontës.
